b149 decomissioning

As outlined in our roadmap a little over a year ago, the time has come to retire b149.

Almost all services have already been migrated away from this instance over the past several months, and b149.enfoid.com will be permanently decommissioned on July 30, 2025.

If you still have backups, archived projects, or other inactive data stored on this server, please make sure to move it before the shutdown date.

Non-essential data will be retained in Amazon Glacier storage for up to four additional years. Please note that Glacier is intended for long-term archival, and retrieving data can be slow and may incur additional recovery costs. We therefore strongly recommend offloading any data you wish to keep now.

If you prefer that your inactive data is not archived to Glacier or included in our offsite backup process, please let us know before the decommissioning date so we can exclude it accordingly.

All services will continue to function on other endpoints, while the majority will be taken over by hosts in the UK Datacenter.

Hosts permanently discontinued are:
- b149.enfoid.io [taken over by banjo.enfoid.io]
- ns1.nc.defunct.space [not replaced]
- ns2.nc.defunct.space [not replaced]

and the filedata service

  1. as of today (Jul 25) all data excluded from the backups are permanently removed as requested, ongoing backups are maintained free of charge.
all left over files are also removed from b149 and only remain on the long term backups from now on, this includes emails and the databases.
